Overview

First we will join the farmer milking a cow and experience interacting with different kinds of doves and pigeons as you hold each bird and learn about their shapes, prices and behaviour. In this experience clients will learn about black chicken too.

Then we will make sundry tomato pastry. A farmer will welcome you to her open terrasse that overlooks Dibeen forest and interact with clients as they start making sundry tomato pastry that will be baked in the outdoor Arabic oven and eaten as the first meal in the day with a great cup of tea and Arabic coffee.

Then we will have a hike in the Dibeen forest to learn about Dibeen caves, Greek strawberry tree, pine trees, Aleppo pine trees, spiders, ants, wild swine and the Persian squirrel.

Experience traditional pottery making farmer will welcome you to her 140 years old home that is made of natural stone and mud that overlooks agricultural valleys of Jerash. She will walk you through how the pottery clay is made (mixing the local dirt and soil with lift over straw collected after wheat harvest) and will show you how to shape a cup or anything of your preference (the piece you make you can have).

The pottery experience is followed by the second meal of the day and that is the traditional food of Jerash farmers: Seasonal fresh salad, freshly made yoghurt, Rashoof (cooked dry yoghurt with burghul, fried onion, herbs lintels) beside the dish of the season. As for the sweet it will be Zalabia (a traditional sweet dough rich with sesame, black cumin seeds, pine, turmeric, olive oil, and whole wheat flour and fried in olive oil and sprinkled with sugar). Clients can also experience dressing up as Women farmers of Jerash and take marvelous photos.

After that you will have the chance to experience making a bee’s wax candle with Beekeeper at her garden and learn how to build a hotel for the solitary bee that is responsible of pollinating many plants and gardens. Enjoy the experience with a great cup of tea or Arabic coffee.
