Amman–Salt City Tour: Prophets Ayyoub, Shu’ayb, Yusha, and Khidr :
Starting from Amman, we’ll first head to Khirbet Ayyub southwest of Salt, the final resting place of Prophet Ayyub (Job). Mentioned four times in the Holy Qur’an for his legendary faith and patience, Ayyub endured great hardships and was blessed for his steadfastness.
Next, we’ll explore Salt, a city of historical importance during Turkish rule in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Once considered for Jordan’s capital, Salt retains its small-town charm with magnificent Ottoman architecture. You’ll admire classical Ottoman features like long-arched windows and towering minaret steeples.
Venturing into Salt’s surroundings, we’ll visit several tombs, including:
- Prophet Shu’ayb (Jethro): Known for preaching monotheism, his shrine lies in Wadi Shu’ayb.
- Prophet Yusha (Joshua): Located west of Salt, he succeeded Prophet Moses and led the Israelite tribes.
- Prophet Khidr: A mysterious figure, mentioned in the Qur’an, known for his wisdom and immortal life.
Concluding our journey, we return to Amman for a restful evening, preparing for more adventures ahead.
Drop-off will be in Amman, marking the end of our enriching tour through Jordan’s cultural and spiritual heritage.
